Arriving in Sydney on his own from India, my husband, zxxk Rashid, stayed in a hotel for a short time while looking for a short time while looking for a house for me and our children.

Dear Alice,

I regret to inform you that I will not be able to meet you at the airport on time.

The reason is that your flight will arrive at 9 o’clock on the morning of May 9,and unluckily our teacher has decided to give us an English test at that time. So the earliest time when I can reach the aiport will be about an hour after you land. Will you please wait for me in the arrival lounge? You can have a rest while you wait.

By the way,as we have never met before,I must tell you that I will wear a white T-shirt,two red balloons in hand that day so that you can recognize me easily.

Hope we can meet soon.

Sincerely yours,

Zhang Hua

25.B本题考查can’t agree more的意思以及逻辑连词。

与25题相类似,答句前半句can’t be better表示不能再好了,意为非常好;can’t be worse则是不能更糟了,表示很糟。

break out意为爆发,多指战争,疾病;break in是插话,打断;break through是突破;break up是分开,分裂。

may not表示不许可,can’t表示不允许时多用于口语中,may比can更正式。

should have given表示本应该给,与语境无关。

应注意punish sb. for sth.

What was it that you said to her? What you said to her?

43.C由后文a word that shows action或meant to connect可知,当时network是一个动词。

in the office/company

Environment problems concern us all.

“Ideas and information are exchanged by people who network to share interests and goals”这句话中有一个定语从句“who network to share interests and goals”,可见该从句本身是一个主谓(S+V)句,后跟一个谓语的目的状语。其中主语是(people)who,目的状语是to share interests and goals,显然network在此已被作者活用为一个动词(并非前文提到的late 1800s时的动词用法),意为上网。

③a chance for sb.

⑧文章前后单复数需一致,前文一直是students(复数)。
